Nigeria’s national electricity grid experienced a system failure early Tuesday, marking the second such incident this month alone.
Just last Friday, the grid suffered its first collapse of the year.
The most recent disruption was confirmed by the Nigeria National Grid via a post on X, communicated at approximately 10:53 am.
The concise message simply stated: “Grid Collapse.”
A subsequent tweet offered a brief update: “Restoration is in progress!”
Data sourced from the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) indicates that power generation has plummeted to zero megawatts.
The blackout is impacting numerous distribution companies, including those serving Ikeja, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Benin, Eko, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Abuja, and Yola.
