The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced a temporary suspension of the Warri-Itakpe train service.
This information was shared by the company’s Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, on his X account on Thursday.
The suspension will be in effect for 72 hours.
The reason for the suspension is attributed to a technical engine failure that occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2025.
“In light of this situation, the NRC has decided to halt operations on the Warri-Itakpe route for 72 hours. This pause will enable our technical team to conduct a thorough audit, address all identified issues, and ensure the restoration of safe and reliable service,” the statement, signed by Henrietta Eregare from NRC’s public relations, stated.
