
This is currently the longest soccer gaming marathon, with the Guinness Book of World Records confirming that he played over 500 matches. The rules allowed only a 5-minute break after each hour of gaming, where he could either take a nap, use the restroom, or eat.
Khoded beat the Englishman; David Whitefoot’s record of 50 hours, which had been set 2 years ago.
The Nigerian biochemist in an attempt to raise money for a local hospital in his hometown of Ijebu Ode, decided to go for the record, which he eventually surpassed by 15 hours.
Unlike previous record holders, who played either FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer during their attempts, Khoded decided to go for the record on his iPhone, choosing to play the mobile game; Dream League Soccer 2023.
“I really enjoyed myself playing for 75 hours straight with just some hours of rest. It wasn’t an easy task, but I must say it was all fun. It was such a great moment; the event was very interesting and I’m grateful to God that it was successful,” he said.
“The Guinness World Records Nigerian gamer sets 75-hour soccer gaming record is a testament to Mr Oluwole’s dedication, determination, and the countless hours of practice he invested in mastering the game,” Hon. Seun Adesanya, a Nigerian statesman stated.
“His achievement stands as an inspiration to all aspiring gamers and an embodiment of the unyielding spirit of determination that drives our nation,” he added.
Oside admitted that he was inspired to break the record after fellow Nigerian, Hilda Baci broke the cooking record in 2023 for the longest cooking marathon.
