The first full weekend of NFL preseason games is done and dusted.
There as plenty of action to talk about, with rookie quarterbacks Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson making debuts. However the two, along with C.J. Stroud, experienced some growing pains.
Elsewhere, Kenny Pickett looked good for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday.
The second year quarterback out of Pittsburgh had no problems leading the Steelers offence to the end zone in what was his only drive of the game.
The Green Bay Packers began life without Aaron Rodgers, as the Jordan Love era kicked off. The former first round pick looked good in his limited action, finishing with seven completions and a touchdown.
Elsewhere, Russell Wilson got off to a slow start but eventually threw a touchdown pass to Jerry Jeudy, though the Denver Broncos came up just short against the Arizona Cardinals.
Sunday’s action saw Derek Carr make his debut with the New Orleans Saints. The former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback finished with six completions and a touchdown, helping the Saints to victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, it was a rough day at the office for Trey Lance, as he was sacked four times against the Las Vegas Raiders. Although the quarterback finished with 112 yards passing from 10 completions and a touchdown, the 49ers were steamrolled by the Raiders.
