New African Film Festival 2025 Highlights Diverse Cinema from Africa

The 2025 New African Film Festival in Washington, D.C. will feature 29 films from 19 African nations. The festival will spotlight narratives from various genres, such as historical dramas, coming-of-age stories, and insightful documentaries. Notable films include “Dahomey” by Mati Diop, addressing the return of Benin’s looted artifacts, and “Disco Afrika: A Malagasy Story.” The event promises to celebrate diverse African stories, providing audiences with a platform to engage with cinema reflecting Africa’s cultural and historical richness. The festival will run for two weeks.
