The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced a public inquiry on its draft Spectrum Roadmap 2025–2030, along with proposed guidelines for using the 60 GHz band for multi-gigabit wireless services and the lower portion of the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi 6 deployment.
The Commission explained that the initiative aligns with its mandate under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (NCA 2003) to promote transparency and ensure broad stakeholder engagement in shaping key regulatory frameworks for the telecom sector.
The documents released for stakeholder review include the draft Spectrum Roadmap 2025–2030, guidelines for 60 GHz band deployment, and guidelines for the lower 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi 6 services in Nigeria.
Pursuant to Section 58 of the NCA 2003, the NCC has invited industry participants and interested stakeholders to take part in the public inquiry ahead of final approval.
The virtual inquiry will take place from January 19 to 20, 2026. The notice, issued on January 14, 2026, was signed by Nnenna Ukoha, Head of the NCC’s Public Affairs Department.
