NCBA and Lake Victoria South Water Works Agency Strengthen Community Water Access

NCBA has renewed its commitment to sustainable community development by donating the first batch of twenty-four 5,000-litre water storage tanks to the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency (LVSWWDA).

The support aims to boost clean and reliable water access across the Nyanza region.

The agency will distribute the tanks to schools, markets and social or faith-based institutions in eight counties.

Many of these institutions have struggled for years with water scarcity, and the tanks offer a practical solution to a long-standing challenge.

During the handover, NCBA Group Director for Corporate and Investment Banking, Tirus Mwithiga, emphasized the importance of the initiative.

“We are deepening our presence in the region by creating real value for communities,” he said.

“Better water storage helps schools, markets and social institutions meet a basic need. It also supports long-term development. This is how NCBA changes the story through actions that improve lives today and support growth for generations.”

The partnership with LVSWWDA reflects a shared goal to strengthen sustainability and improve regional resilience.

According to Mwithiga, the program will continue for years, demonstrating NCBA’s commitment to both people and the environment.

The water tanks donation falls under NCBA’s Change the Story initiative.

The program directs funding toward Kenya’s most urgent needs, including environmental sustainability, financial empowerment, education, tree planting and reducing environmental degradation.

Through consistent, tangible action, NCBA https://ke.ncbagroup.com/ continues to drive impact in communities that need it most.
