The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) has announced a pivotal leadership change in its Road Research Department, with Engr. Dr. Quadri H.A. officially succeeding Dr. C.C. Osadebe. The handover ceremony took place on February 28, 2025, at the National Laboratory Complex (NLC) in Ota, where key stakeholders, department heads, and colleagues gathered to celebrate Dr. Osadebe’s achievements and to embrace Dr. Quadri’s vision for the future.

In reflecting on his time in office, Dr. Osadebe expressed his appreciation for the support he received from colleagues and staff, highlighting the advancements made in road construction research, the utilization of local materials, and infrastructure development. He emphasized that during his leadership, the department significantly contributed to NBRRI’s expanded mandate since 1993, ensuring that research-driven solutions effectively address Nigeria’s evolving road infrastructure needs.

Taking on the leadership role, Engr. Dr. Quadri H.A., who previously held the position of welfare chairman for the department, brings a wealth of expertise and research experience in road engineering. In his acceptance speech, he praised the contributions of his predecessor and committed to building on the solid foundation already established, with a focus on innovation-driven research aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s road infrastructure. He reaffirmed his dedication to advancing research initiatives that promote sustainable and resilient road networks throughout the country.

This transition underscores NBRRI’s ongoing commitment to pioneering research and technological advancements in building and road construction. Under Dr. Quadri’s leadership, the Road Research Department is poised to investigate new strategies for improving Nigeria’s road systems, optimizing the use of local materials, and implementing modern engineering solutions to tackle infrastructure challenges.

As Dr. Osadebe steps down, his legacy of commitment and influence will continue to resonate.
