The Namibian government has allocated N$20 million in seed funding to launch NAM-CSIRT, a crucial initiative designed to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity framework.

Speaking at the inaugural NAM-CSIRT Stakeholder Engagement in Windhoek, CEO Mrs. Emilia Nghikembua emphasized the importance of collaboration for protecting Namibia’s critical infrastructure and shielding citizens from evolving cyber threats.

The event marked the official launch of Namibia’s Cyber Security Incident Response Team (NAM-CSIRT), highlighting the need for cross-sector collaboration and advocating for the creation of sector-specific CIRTs to address industry-specific cybersecurity threats.
