The nPerf Barometer of Mobile Internet Connections in Nigeria, based on millions of user-initiated tests in 2025, ranked MTN highest with 37,106 points, ahead of Airtel (25,614) and Glo (20,475).

MTN led in download speeds (18.65 Mbps), upload performance (8.70 Mbps), and latency (96.46 ms), outperforming rivals across 4G indicators, web browsing, and YouTube streaming. Even during peak hours, MTN maintained consistent performance, highlighting its reliability for video conferencing, content creation, and streaming services.

nPerf noted that Glo achieved the lowest latency among competitors (121.81 ms), making it a stable option for delay-sensitive applications. Overall, MTN accounted for 58% of all tests analyzed, reflecting strong user adoption and network capability.

As Nigeria continues to grow as a leading digital economy, MTN’s high-performing mobile networks are supporting fintech, e-commerce, media, and remote work.
