Morocco’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) has granted 5G mobile network licenses to the country’s three leading operators—Maroc Telecom, Orange Morocco, and inwi—following its July 25, 2025, board meeting.
The Head of Government approved the ANRT’s evaluation of the competitive tender process, with operators scoring 87 (Maroc Telecom), 85 (Orange Morocco), and 87 points (inwi), based on investment, coverage, and service quality criteria.
Maroc Telecom will acquire 120 MHz of spectrum for MAD 900 million.Orange Morocco and inwi will each obtain 70 MHz for MAD 600 million.
Together, the operators commit to investing approximately MAD 80 billion in infrastructure and operations through 2035. Coverage requirements include reaching 45% of the population by end-2026 and 85% by 2030.
This milestone supports Morocco’s digital transformation, laying the groundwork for nationwide 5G connectivity and next-gen digital services.
