The Africa Report and Jeune Afrique have unveiled their first-ever ranking of Africa’s 30 most attractive cities, highlighting the continent’s growing tourism appeal. The participatory study, which involved nearly 2,000 respondents, assessed cities in 30 countries based on 26 factors grouped into five main categories: quality of life, infrastructure and housing, employment and economic opportunities, essential services, and foreign direct investment. Based on these criteria, Cape Town emerged as the most attractive city on the continent, followed by Kigali, Johannesburg, and Casablanca. Nairobi, Alexandria, Cairo, Abidjan, and Accra make up the top 10. Each of these cities ranks high for balancing economic growth with cultural heritage, safety, and sustainability. As a result, they are considered very attractive by residents and tourists alike.
