The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces has unveiled the first three AH-64E Apache combat helicopters purchased from the US.
The aircraft is part of a $4.25-billion foreign military sale that Rabat requested in 2019 for up to 36 Apaches.
Morocco’s new platforms are reportedly at an airport in Texas awaiting their shipment to the North African country.

In the US Department of Defense sale approval notification, it was stated the Apaches would be supplied alongside related equipment, support, training, and logistics services.
The deal also includes 551 new Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, 200 AIM-92H Stinger air-to-air missiles, and 558 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System precision-guided rocket kits.
The AH-64E Apache System
Developed by Boeing, the Apache AH-64E has a service ceiling of 20,000 feet (6,096 meters) and a speed of more than 150 knots (173 miles/278 kilometers per hour).
It has a wingspan of 48 feet (14 meters), an overall airframe length of similar measure, and a maximum operating weight of 23,000 pounds (10,433 kilograms).
The helicopter is equipped with a more advanced General Electric turbine engine to increase power, range, and efficiency compared to the previous Apache variants.
Alongside multi-domain warheads, the AH-64E can be equipped with 30-millimeter chain guns that can fire up to 650 rounds per minute.
