Former US First Lady Melania Trump has introduced a cryptocurrency called $MELANIA, following the launch of her husband Donald Trump’s digital currency, $TRUMP.
Trump announced the launch on X, stating: “The Official Melania Meme is live! You can buy $MELANIA now.”
The digital asset, described as the “Official Melania Meme” on its website, operates on the Solana blockchain platform.
Both the $TRUMP and $MELANIA cryptocurrencies’ websites contain disclaimers stating they are “not intended to be, or the subject of” an investment opportunity or a security.
Data from CoinMarketCap shows $TRUMP has reached a market valuation of £9.8bn ($12bn), whilst $Melania’s cryptocurrency stands at £1.7bn.
Both currencies have experienced price fluctuations since their launch.
