One of the biggest companies in the world may soon find themselves a new operating home. Indeed, Mark Zuckerberg’s META is reportedly in talks to reincorporate in Texas, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The company is discussing a potential move to transfer its legal residence to the southern state.
Such a move would see the Zuckerberg-led company leave Delaware, a popular state to base operations for larger United States companies. According to the report, Texas is not alone in its consideration. Sources with information on the matter note that the company has “also considered reincorporating in other states.”

Although we are just 31 days into the year, 2025 has already been transformative for META. The company has sought to better align itself with the newly arrived presidential administration. Moreover, it has continued to observe how to better organize operations, including welcoming UFC President Dana White to join its board of directors.
Many of those changes have been beneficial to its share prices, with the stock edging closer to the $700 mark. Yet, that hasn’t pushed the company to slow down on potential changes. Indeed, they are considering a massive shift, as Mark Zuckerberg’s META is reportedly looking to incorporate in Texas.

According to sources with inside information, the company has already talked with Texas officials about moving the company’s legal residence. However, a spokesperson from META confirmed it has “no plans” to move its corporate headquarters out of California.
Zuckerberg wouldn’t be the first to make such a move. Elon Musk reincorporated Tesla and SpaceX into Texas, leaving Delaware in June of 2024. Moreover, he moved his medical technology startup, Neuralink, to Nevada. Conversely, META’s reincorporation into the Lone Star State would reinforce Texas as a burgeoning home for large companies.
