In Baringo, KES 40 million will be invested in Sirwa Primary School to construct and equip a laboratory, early childhood development and education (ECDE) classrooms, and a 400-capacity multipurpose hall. The funds will also be used to renovate existing classrooms and administrative blocks.
An additional KES 50 million has been allocated to the Rift Valley Innovation Centre (RVIC) for a new ladies’ dormitory, mechanical and electrical upgrades, and a rainwater harvesting system to support technical training.
In Bomet County, KES 40 million will be used to fund new facilities at Kimawit Primary School, including an ICT lab, science lab, gender-specific ablution blocks, and a 200-capacity multipurpose hall.
“In line with our purpose of transforming lives, we continue to collaborate with various partners, including the Ministry of Education, to invest in school renovation projects across the country, with a focus on the neediest cases,” said Joseph Ogutu, Chairman of the Safaricom Foundation.
These efforts are part of a wider initiative, with similar educational projects already implemented in Homa Bay, Meru, Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, Elgeyo Marakwet, Lamu, Siaya, Migori, and Vihiga, among others, as it continues to improve school infrastructure across the country.
