Lions Kenya, Safaricom Collaboration To sponsor Kenyan Creatives Representing The Country In France

Safaricom will be the key sponsor of the Young Lions Kenya competition, which will be held on March 8th and 9th, 2025, at EABL. HQ, Garden City, Business Park.

A total of 62 creatives will participate for a chance to represent Kenya at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, scheduled from June 16th to 20th, 2025, in Cannes, France.

On Sunday, March 9th, at the competition’s conclusion, the jury will announce the six Kenyans selected to represent the country at Cannes.

The 62 creatives can participate in one of three categories: Digital, Design, or Print, to showcase their work. A brief will be provided to them on Saturday, and they will be required to respond within 24 hours. After that, the jury will decide on the top three teams (six people) who will travel to Cannes, France, in June 2025.

As Title Sponsor, Safaricom will also be represented by two judges on the jury: Zizwe Awuor, Director of Brand and Marketing, and Vivienne Ethangatta, Digital and PR Communications Manager. They will be part of the panel judging this year’s creative submissions.

Key message: Safaricom is an enabler of Kenyan passion points and supports the creative economy.

Safaricom will get to position themselves as an ally of the Creative Economy and as the lead enabler of the propulsion of the Kenyan Creative Economy forward.
