Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) On Police Brutality

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is appealing  to the police and other security forces, in Kenya to be tolerant and to handle protesting GenZ with care and restraint.

The recently witnessed massacre of children by police should not be allowed to happen  again in Kenya.

The government, the Kenya police and other security forces should respect the law and allow citizens to protest and picket  peacefully without interference or intimidation as stipulated in the 2010 Constitution.

The barbaric  brutal action by police has tainted the good image of Kenya locally, regionally and internationally.
Kenya is a country which is not only respected and recognized in East Africa but in the continent as peaceful nation.

Gen Z like any other Kenyan citizen has a right to demand for good governance practise from the leaders and the government  they have elected.

Equally, they have a right to reject and remove from power a leader that they feel is not delivering services to the nation to the expectation of its citizens.

Liberal Democratic Party as an ideological political entity cherishes freedom of association, freedom of expression  and speech, liberty and respect to Human Rights as pillars for good governance practice and for democratisation process.

LDP Secretary General Mr.Denise Kodhe urges parents and guardians to guide their children to be careful and not to provoke security forces when picketing.

The Genz should be reminded that tear gas is not rain water to be played with and that guns are not toys but very dangerous weapons with live ammunitions.

LDP is reminding the government and the security forces especially the police that Genz are  not enemies but their children  who requires utmost care and Love.

There is no homestead in Kenya without Gen z in the family  either as sons and daughters or as grand or great grand children.

Equally there are no professions today without GenZ whether in the police, defence forces, public or private sector therefore we must show love to the children and the youth irrespective of their  beliefs, criticism or positions they have taken against us as parents, guardians or as a government.
