Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun, yesterday, warned that the state government will not tolerate lawlessness and the violation of the state’s building codes.

The governor also denied any political motive in the partial demolition of DATKEM Plaza, Ijebu-Ode.

The governor said “the demolition was carried out in line with the state’s building codes, and that no one is above the law, regardless of their political affiliation.

Abiodun said the demolition was ordered after the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development found that the building had been constructed without proper approval and violated several building codes.”

He noted that the ministry had issued several warnings to the owners of the building, but they had ignored them.

Abiodun said he had also instructed the ministry to demolish any of his own properties that violate the state’s building codes.

He revealed he was “committed to ensuring that all buildings in the state are safe and that no one is put at risk.”

The governor’s statement comes after the demolition of DATKEM Plaza sparked accusations that it was politically motivated.

The plaza is owned by Yeye Olufunke Daniel, the wife of former Ogun Governor Gbenga Daniel.

Some people have alleged that the demolition was ordered by Abiodun because of his political rivalry with Gbenga Daniel.

However, Abiodun has denied these allegations and said the demolition was purely a matter of law enforcement.

He said “the state government would not tolerate lawlessness and that everyone is subject to the law, regardless of their political affiliation.”

Abiodun’s statement has been welcomed by some people, who have praised him for his commitment to upholding the law.

However, others have criticized the demolition, saying it was excessive and that the owners of the building should have been given more time to comply with the building codes.

The demolition of DATKEM Plaza is a reminder of the importance of following building codes. It is also a reminder that no one is above the law, regardless of their political affiliation.
