The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Office of Urban Development, Engr. Shodeinde Olalekan Nurudeen, has urged officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) to uphold integrity in their duties.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring compliance with building codes and industry best practices.
Engr. Shodeinde made this call during his inaugural meeting with LASBCA officials at the agency’s headquarters in Ikeja. He expressed confidence in the agency’s professionals to curb building collapses and illegal practices in the built industry. He called for teamwork among staff, particularly those in the field, to achieve the agency’s objectives.

He cautioned against compromising standards, emphasizing that there would be consequences for any form of misconduct.
He urged LASBCA staff to reject corruption and be resolute in enforcing regulations while assisting in achieving compliance within the construction sector.
In his welcome remarks, the General Manager of LASBCA, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki (FNIA), described the redeployment of the Permanent Secretary as a homecoming.
He highlighted the agency’s achievements in the last four years and assured full cooperation with the new leadership.
