L3Harris Technologies has signed an agreement with Thales UK for the development of an integrated short-range air defense command and control capability for the UK.

The joint solution will combine L3Harris’ target orientated tracking system (TOTS) with Thales’ Agile C4I at the Edge system for enhanced command and control.

The firms offer a combined 80 years of experience delivering command, control, communications, intelligence, and ground-based air defense capabilities to the UK military.

L3Harris’ TOTS integrates data from various sensors and platforms, such as radar and data links, to deliver a real-time operational picture for enhanced situational awareness.

Thales has extensive experience in the development of ground-based air defense systems such as ForceShield, RapidFire, and the Starstreak man-portable anti-aircraft system.

“L3Harris is proud to provide advanced technology in support of the UK’s defence priorities,” L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems President Ed Zoiss said.

“Rapid, reliable delivery of intelligence from various sensors across the battlespace will provide UK forces with a better common operating picture and will enable more informed decision-making.”
