Kenya National Police DT SACCO and NPSC Empower Officers Ahead of Retirement
Nairobi, Kenya – The Kenya National Police DT SACCO, in partnership with the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), held a two-day Pre-Retirement Training Program designed to prepare police officers aged 50 to 60 years for a confident and dignified retirement.
Held from 20th to 21st May 2025 at the College of Insurance in South C, the training brought together 150 officers from various police services within the Nairobi region. The initiative reflects the SACCO’s commitment to ensuring the long-term welfare and financial preparedness of its members.

Kenya National Police DT SACCO CEO Mr. Solomon Atsiaya emphasized the SACCO’s broader mission. “Our mission extends beyond active service. We are here to ensure that every police officer is not only financially literate but also financially secure throughout retirement,” he said.
Support Beyond Service
In addition to offering tailored financial products, the SACCO provided advisory services to help officers plan wisely. Trainers also included experts from the Retirement Benefits Authority and the National Treasury Pension Department, offering additional insight into pension and benefits planning.
In his closing remarks, NPSC CEO Mr. Peter Leley reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to smooth transitions for retiring officers. He noted that this training is vital for helping officers retire with clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose.
