KCB RFC Determined To Record Sixth Win Of The Season

Second placed KCB Rugby Club travel to face Nakuru RFC in match day six of the current Kenya Cup season scheduled for Saturday at the Nakuru Athletics Club as the team eyes a sixth win.

The bankers have an excellent record in the league so far, winning five consecutive matches to keep pace with Kabras Sugar who are also yet to drop points this campaign. As it stands, Kabras lead on points difference – 332 compared to KCB’s 220.

KCB RFC Determined To Record Sixth Win Of The Season

The team triumphed 36-11 over Strathmore Leos last weekend scoring six tries in the process courtesy of captain Griffin Musila, Kolian Persian, Wilhite Mususi, Brian Wahinya and Peter Kilonzo.

Speaking during a training session at the KCB Sports Club, Ruaraka, head coach Curtis Olago said: “We need to be humble and show respect to Nakuru RFC as a worthy opponent. Five wins out of five means we are on the right trajectory, but the next match is always very important. I have requested my players to focus on the clash and to concentrate until the final whistle.”

Kolian Persian who has impressed for the Curtis Olago outfit coming from the bench is expected to feature this weekend and another youngster with huge potential Wilhite Mususi is also expected to be in the starting fifteen.

KCB RFC Determined To Record Sixth Win Of The Season

Olago who missed the services of skippers Samuel Asati, Vincent Onyala, and Festus Shiasi has urged his side to be ready for a call up to represent the shirt on Saturday afternoon.

“We are missing three important players, but KCB is always rich in talent within the squad, anyone can be called upon to play and compete at the levels we expect them to. So, no pressure for my players but we need to keep winning games to stay on top,” added Olago.

The team will depart for Nakuru tomorrow morning for the weekend’s fixture. Eric Shirley Shield (ESS) match against Nakuru II will curtain raise the main action set for 3 pm.
