KCB Petitions County Gov’ts To Enhance Electricity Connectivity to Spur ICT Usage
Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has called upon county governments to ensure they have adequate electric power connectivity in order to boost their usage of Information Technology.
The Group Director in charge of Technology at the leading banking institution, Mr Dennis Volemi said Internet banking, which is taking root becomes much easier with knowledge in Information Technology.
He urged the devolved units to embrace information technology in order to conform to the fast-changing global trends.
Mr Volemi who was speaking at the opening of the Nyanza International Investment Conference where they are the main sponsors said that they must ensure power connectivity in order to boost internet usage.
He said that things such as Artificial Intelligence revolved around information technology which he noted requires power and devices.
Volemi said Kenyans must be tech savvy, moving forward noting that financial technology was fast gaining ground.
A director, Mr Okulo Ouko said they will focus through the KCB Foundation on sponsoring bright but needy students.
He noted that KCB will also put more emphasis on TVET training as a way and means of elevating those who do not make it to the university.
He said the lending institution was keen on diversifying its operations regionally.
