KCB FC Makes Bench Changes in Season Push

KCB Football Club has made changes to its technical bench in an effort to turn around the team’s performance.

The club has suspended Head Coach Patrick Odhiambo, Assistant Coach Jeffer Odongo, and Fitness Trainer Eric Muranda with immediate effect. This decision comes after a string of underwhelming results that saw the team drop crucial points in recent fixtures.

In the interim, Goalkeeping Coach Samuel Koko Okoth will take charge of the team. He will lead the side through the final two matches of the 2024/25 FKF Premier League season as the club assesses its options for long-term leadership.

Speaking on the changes, KCB FC Chairman Bramwel Simiyu said:
“We have had mutual discussions with the coach and his assistants. We want to inject fresh energy into the team to finish the season strongly and prepare well for the next one.”

He added, “KCB Football remains a key part of the KCB brand’s sporting platform. Therefore, it’s important for us to take stock of our progress as we build for the future. We aim to win the league and sustain top performance in the long term.”

As of now, KCB sits 9th in the league table. The team has earned 41 points from 32 matches, a position many fans feel does not reflect the team’s potential given the quality of the squad.

Looking ahead, KCB will host Nairobi City Stars on June 10. After that, they will wrap up the season with an away game against AFC Leopards on June 15, 2025.

The club’s management is expected to announce a comprehensive technical restructuring after the season ends. Supporters and stakeholders alike will be watching closely to see how the team rebuilds ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
