Jordan Poole has looked to move on from an ugly pre-season incident involving himself and Draymond Green, refusing to sour relations with his former employer, the Golden State Warriors.
Steve Kerr went as far as to say the incident hindered the Warriors’ pursuit of a second successive NBA championship, with team-spirit widely damaged by Green‘s punch to Poole during a pre-season drill.
Poole is now with the Washington Wizards after leaving California, but is hoping to put the past behind him.
“We’re in Washington now,” Poole said.
“Playing with [Kyle Kuzma], great duo. Being able to really flourish, expand your game and help a new team. Help lead an entire group of guys, it’s a challenge that we’re up for.
“Everybody’s locked in, wants to be here, start something that we can have that can be special.”
Why was Jordan Poole traded to Washington?
There are rumors that Poole was traded by request, with the player wanting to get away from the environment that had been generated by his feud with Green.

However, others believe that he was forced out of the Warriors’ locker room due to pressure from Green on team management.
Poole had developed into a key player for the team after being drafted back in 2019, however he will be a guaranteed starter with the Wizards, so his career is taking a forward step.
Poole’s refusal to engage with a question about Green suggests he has moved on from the incident, he didn’t want to damage relations with the Warriors with any negative comments, so merely focused on his own future during his Washington unveiling.
