The Jigawa State government has constructed over 100 kilometers of embankment around flood-prone communities in the state. The embankments are designed to prevent flooding during the rainy season, which is typically from June to October.

Governor Umar Namadi announced the completion of the embankments during a media chat on his 100 days in office. He said that “the embankments are part of his administration’s 12-point agenda to make Jigawa prosperous and great in the social and economic spheres.”

In addition to the embankments, the governohttp://www.africahousingshow.comr also said that his administration has been working to improve education and job creation in the state. “He said that the government has split the Ministry of Education into two, has increased student scholarships, and paid the registration fees for over 4,000 students from less privileged families.”

The governor’s 100 days in office have been marked by several significant initiatives. The construction of the embankments is a major step towards preventing flooding, which is a major problem in Jigawa State. The government’s focus on education and job creation is also important, as these are key to the state’s long-term prosperity.
