One of the most important sports weeks of the year has arrived, as the NFL Super Bowl is just around the corner. This year the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will face off in what should be an epic game. Yet, knowing where to find the game has become increasingly tricky. So, this guide will break down whether or not the Super Bowl is available on Amazon Prime

The prevalence of the NFL Super Bowl within the cultural zeitgeist cannot be understated. The game has been watched by more than 114 million people. Moreover, with the advent of streaming platforms, last year’s Super Bowl reached an astronomical 115 million individuals.

This year’s iteration, the NFL’s 58th such event, should be one for the ages. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are taking part in their fourth Super Bowl appearance since 2020. The team has already won two of those games in its most recent history behind legendary head coach Andy Reid.

On the other side of the field, Kyle Shanahan is set to lead the San Francisco 49ers in his second Super Bowl as the team’s head coach. Moreover, ultimately underdog Brock Purdy is set to quarterback the team. Purdy was the 262nd pick in the 2022 NFL draft and is the first ‘Mr. Irrelavant’ to quarterback a team to the NFL Super Bowl.

Both sides present an impressive and intriguing narrative, and the game is certainly must must-watch for NFL and sports fans. However, knowing where to access the game is half the battle. So, let’s answer if Amazon Prime will be streaming the NFL Super Bowl this year.

Is Amazon Prime Streaming the Super Bowl?

Amazon has undoubtedly emerged as one of the most important media empires on the planet. Outside of its dominance in the consumer online marketplace sector, it has grown leaps and bounds in its entertainment offerings.

A crucial part of that has been the company’s investment in its burgeoning streaming platform Amazon Prime. The service allows an avenue for the consumer to purchase a stream of a plethora of content. Although it functions a little bit differently than someone like Netflix or Hulu, it has ascended as a top option.

That was reinforced when the platform was announced as the host of the NFL’s Thursday Night Football. Throughout the season, games on Thursdays would air exclusively on the streaming platform. However, does that factor into the biggest game of the NFL season?

The answer is more nuanced than a simple yes. Although it is not directly offered from the platform, the Super Bowl is available to watch on Amazon Prime through its Paramount+ channels. Although PAramount+ operates as a completely separate streaming platform, it is accessible through the Amazon Prime Channels.

PAramount+ is the native streaming platform of all CBS content. Subsequently, CBS is the network that is airing the Super Bowl this year. Therefore, ViacomCBS, the company controlling it all, allows cross-platform event streaming.

Amazon Prime subscribers are therefore able to take advantage of this through the Prime channels. However, it does not alter the fact that users are required also to have access to Paramount+ to watch the Super Bowl when it airs this Sunday, February 11th, 2024.

If you do not have Amazon or Paramount+, there’s no need to fret as the NFL’s biggest game of the year is set to stream on a plethora of platforms. Therefore, let’s delve deeper into where you can watch Super Bowl 58.

CBS (Cable)

One of the primary places to watch the Super Bowl this weekend is through CBS. The network is set to air the big game and will showcase it across all of its cable affiliates. However, it is important to remember that this is only for cable customers.

CBS should be accessible through most cable companies and is even available through an indoor antenna on all TVs. Moreover, the channel should be accessed through most TV streaming platforms, some of which we’ll delve further into.

Fubo TV

A key streaming platform that has grown in popularity among sports fans, Fubo TV is a great option for viewing the Super Bowl. The platform features more than 400 channels for subscribers, and among them is CBS.

Additionally, the present free trial makes Fubo TV such a great option for viewers. The platform offers prospective users the chance to explore its features without committing to the platform through a subscription. Additionally, Paramount+ also features a 7-day free trial

Hulu TV

Another popular option for streaming the Super Bowl is Hulu TV. However, the only way to access the big game is through Hulu’s upgraded Live TV package that allows you to stream traditional television channels.

The package features CBS and will allow you to watch the Super Bowl this Sunday. Moreover, it is yet another streaming option for people without cable to have access to the increased event.

YouTube TV

Throughout its history, few platforms can boast the popularity that YouTube has experienced over the last decade. Indeed, that has not carried over to the streaming realm, where the company is a recent player.

YouTube TV is very similar to the previously mentioned Fubo TV and Hulu. It essentially features a bevy of live television options without the hassle of having traditional cable. Moreover, it presents yet another avenue to watch Super Bowl 58.

Altogether, there is no shortage of platforms that are granting access to the Super Bowl. However, with the countless emerging services, one must be selective with which ones offer it. Ensure that you have one of the aforementioned platforms so you don’t miss what should be a showdown for the ages this Sunday.
