The US stock market got off to a little bit of a slow start in February. Indeed, rising geopolitical tensions and growing competition in the AI sector have led investors to be increasingly more selective in their approach. Yet, despite some recent challenges, is Nvidia (NVDA) still the best Magnificent Seven stock to buy this month?

The stock has long been one of the biggest winners of the ongoing AI rush that dominated Wall Street last year. Surging more than 170% in 2024, there were many who expected it to lead the pack once again this year. However, less than two months into 2025, is that still the case?

Is Nvidia (NVDA) Atop Magnifncnet Seven Stocks Yet Again in February?

There were few stocks that entered the year with as much potential as Nvidia. The AI chipmaker had the eyes of investors, as many projected it to be the first company to reach a $4 trillion market cap. Yet, that has gotten off to a rocky start this year. Indeed, with DeepSeek’s arrival, the stock lost $600 billion in market value amid the increased competition.

However, it has rebounded some. Moreover, the artificial intelligence rush doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon. Therefore, is Nvidia (NVDA) still the best Magnificent Seven Stock to buy this month?

The stock has recently rallied to a key level. Indeed, it jumped more than 2.8% Thursday, retaking the 50-day line for the first time since late January. Moreover, the company’s CEO had given the highly anticipated CES 2025 Keynote that fueled a bullish perspective for the stock.

However, there is no denying that Nvidia has struggled this year. Of all Magnificent Seven Stocks, it is down more than 7% in 2025 so far, better than only Tesla (TSLA), according to Investors Business Daily. In comparison, Alphabet (GOOGL) and Amazon (AMZN) are up more than 6% this year, respectively. Meanwhile, META platforms have jumped more than 17% this year.

That being said, Nvidia is still among the strongest investments one can make. Competition is surging, but there is still significant upside. Additionally, there are questions regarding the validity of DeepSeek’s cost claims that did a number of the AI chipmaker’s stock performance.

The stock currently holds a median price target of $175, according to CNN data. Due to its recent fall, that is up more than 27% from its current position. Moreover, its high-end price project is $220, showing a 59% upside. Alternatively, its low-end projection is $135, representing just a 1.88% downside from its price Friday.

That still makes it among the highest-reward, low-risk stocks of the seven tech giants. If anything, its recent trouble has only made the entry point more attractive to prospective investors.
