Ibadan residents should anticipate intermittent power outages as the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) undertakes the relocation of its infrastructure. This action is necessitated by the ongoing road construction along Foodco Road and Idi Isin.

IBEDC announced on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, that certain electricity feeders will be temporarily switched off for approximately three hours each day, from Monday, January 5, 2026, to Friday, January 9, 2026. This measure is essential to facilitate the safe relocation of IBEDC’s assets in the affected area, ensuring the long-term integrity of the power distribution network. The *power outage* is a temporary measure.

The affected areas, as identified by IBEDC, include Alalubosa GRA, Ogunkola, Museum, Akinola Maja, FRIN, Forestry College, Lead City, Lead British, House 18, Eleventh House, Commissionaire, Nursing Home, Sunrise, and Post Housing. Furthermore, customers in the AMI Complex, ODUA, Police Headquarters, Apampa, The Heavens, Blossom Heritage, Polo Clubs, and Baale Akintayo will also experience these scheduled *power interruptions*. Residents should take note of this *electricity distribution* update.

IBEDC has requested understanding from its customers during this period, emphasizing that the *road construction* requires these adjustments to ensure the safe and efficient relocation of its equipment.
