The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has initiated the distribution of the first batch of Provisional Allocation Offers to Outright Subscribers of Houses under the National Housing Programme (NHP).

Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, made this announcement during a briefing in his Abuja office.

According to a press release signed by Salisu Badamasi Haiba, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the ministry, the issuance of the first batch of provisional allocation offers commenced in April 2024. This follows a review of the conditions and procedures for house sales under the NHP, which was communicated through a circular dated December 29, 2023 (Ref no. DPBH/645/1/43).

Dr. Ogunbiyi noted that several Outright Payment Subscribers have completed their payments, while others have begun making deposits but have not yet finalized their payments.

He reminded subscribers in the first batch of provisional allocations for NHP Housing Units that they have a 90-day period to complete all payments.

“The Ministry is notifying all first batch Outright Subscribers who have not yet completed their payments that an additional grace period of eight (8) weeks has been granted for them to finalize their payments,” he stated.

The Permanent Secretary also emphasized that any subscriber who does not complete their payment within this eight-week grace period will have their Offer revoked.
