The US Army has contracted HII to deliver live training solutions for the service’s Live Training, Ranges and Combat Training Centers.
Costing $379 million, the award encompasses multiple orders of components that will aid the army’s warfighter preparations in real-world environments.
These systems will consist of new products and equipment supporting ongoing technology refreshment, updates, research, and development efforts for older and modern live-fire ranges.
Work for this project will be facilitated by HII’s Mission Technologies segment.
It will be coordinated with the US Army Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation program office, which oversees assembly, sustainment, evaluations, and data of training platforms for the force.
“Training is absolutely vital for warfighter readiness,” Mission Technologies Global Security President Michael Lempke said.
“We look forward to supporting the Army’s evolution of training systems that will provide realistic and efficient preparation for combat scenarios.”
HII Support for US Military Training
HII’s army contract came after a separate project last March to lead logistics assistance for the US Air Force’s F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot training devices.
Simultaneously, the company landed an engineering support deal for multiple training systems under the US Navy’s Surface Warfare Center in Virginia.
Last year, HII secured a contract to assemble a live-virtual hybrid training capability for the air force.
The firm also signed another major navy project in 2023 to supply installation, laboratory assistance, cybersecurity, maintenance, and management work for training platforms operating at the service’s largest fleet concentration site.
