Hydrogen development firm Hydrogène de France (HDF) Energy announced the construction of a green hydrogen power plant in Namibia. Dubbed Renewstable, the project represents the first of its kind in Africa and will be located in Swakopmund. The plant is designed to generate 30 MW of electricity during the day and 6 MW at night, with 230 MWh of energy storage capacity. Using green hydrogen produced through renewable energy-powered electrolysis, the project is expected to yield approximately 1,400 tons of green hydrogen annually. Construction is set to commence in 2024.
