Danish software company Systematic has been chosen to provide command and control (C2) systems for the German Navy’s future F-126 frigates.
Systematic will work alongside IT group DXC Technology to supply the frigates with National Maritime C2 Service Bundeswehr (NMC2S Bw), an enhanced centralized software system.
NMC2S Bw builds upon the company’s SitaWare Maritime software, currently utilized by the German Navy for military messaging, email, and chat functions.
The program will also be used for data processing and decision support for real-time operations.
Optimizing Communications
Systematics Maritime Product Manager Stig Meyer stated that the upgrade will provide the German Navy’s frigates with more options for in-system communications.
“Our maritime solution is a force multiplier and essential for any modern navy, providing the perfect addition to this future frigate programme,” he said.
“We are looking forward to working with our partners to deliver the NMC2S Bw as part of this innovative, future-proof approach.”
Recently, Systematic signed a deal with the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology, and In-Service Support. They will supply system add-ons through the German Mission Network Block 2 (GMN 2) initiative, which seeks to integrate and harmonize information systems for national and international operations.
