Rheinmetall has accepted a contract to supply up to 120 mobile medical stations for the German Armed Forces.

The “double-digit million euro” deal will initially deliver 10 ballistic protected and six unarmored trucks to Berlin from 2025 to 2027.

The agreement includes an option for 104 additional stations in both protected and unprotected variants, as well as corresponding training for operational teams.

According to the Düsseldorf-based company, the medical aid vehicles will be used for surgical and internal emergency care for troops in the field.

Among the capabilities’ primary feature is their modular design, which can be assembled and dismantled “within the shortest possible time.”

Each of the stations incorporate an emergency container with modern medical equipment, a power generator, and an air conditioning unit.

Once delivered, the package will be integrated into the German Armed Forces existing Modular Medical Facilities.

In August 2024, Berlin awarded Rheinmetall another contract for Forward Surgical Team stations that have similar medical solutions but can interconnect up to five containers, forming a larger center for patients.

Germany also received a similar fleet of protected medical transport containers developed by Airbus, which is fitted with solutions for minor wounds and injuries.
