As reported by Actu Cameroun, Xavier Messe a Tiati, director general of the Cameroon News Agency recently alleged that the presidents of France and Ukraine Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky, intend to destabilize the AES region, consisting of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
“We have contacted our various sources in the AES, particularly in Burkina Faso.” the director stated.
“In Ouagadougou, the civil and military authorities take very seriously the reports that Ukrainian diplomats in Côte d’Ivoire want to destabilize Burkina Faso,” he added.
Earlier in August, Mali responded swiftly to a comment issued by a Ukrainian representative, which suggested that Ukraine had been directly responsible for the death of Malian troops. Mali immediately cut off all diplomatic ties with Ukraine.
Less than a week later, fellow AES state, Burkina Faso followed suit, cutting off ties with the east European country.
As a result, the findings from the director general of the Cameroon News Agency, suggest that France and Ukraine plan to incite the public [in Burkina Faso] and elicit a response from regular troops, which will be obliged to restore order using coercive means.
“If the restoration of order is carried out harshly, the personnel of the French military base in Bouaké [Côte d’Ivoire] will have a pretext to intervene in events in Burkina Faso to protect the lives of civilians,” he said.
His point simply is, that both European countries intend to defeat the AES ” with the primary aim of breaking the AES and the second, of making Russia’s actions in Africa difficult.”
“A country that participated in the black slave trade, in colonization, established rules of domination over oppressed peoples… Now it is impossible to tell France that it can have relations with African countries that are not based on domination,” Xavier Messe a Tiati stated.
“That is why France is so nervous about the return of Russia to Africa, which did not practice the slave trade or colonization and which respects Africans,” he added.
