The Executive Governor of Ekiti State Oyebanji Abiodun and other high-ranking state officials were hosted by the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr Shehu Usman Osidi.

The visit took place on recently  at the Bank’s Headquarters In Abuja.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the bank and the state administration in order to address the housing deficit in Ekiti state by offering creative housing solutions that would provide the residents of the state with a quality and affordablehomes.

During the discussion, the governor’s representative, Dr. Gboyega Oloniyo, the Special Adviser of the Ekiti State Bureau of Housing and Mortgage Development, emphsized the significance of housing as one of the three fundamental human necessities, along with food and clothes.

He underlined the Governor’s intention to work with the Bank on housing delivery for Ekiti residents, an important government priority.

It is nearly impossible to construct affordable homes these days due to the high cost of building materials in the nation brought on by rising inflation, he said, pointing out that Ekiti has a massive housing gap.

In his remarks, the Bank’s MD/CE Shehu Usman Osidi assured the state government of the bank’s readiness to support their efforts.

In Osidi’s words “I would like to assure the people of Ekiti State that the Federal Mortgage stands ready to partner in whatever way possible to achieve the State’s objective.

“In the course of the past few years, we have had a lot of interaction with Ekiti State. We have a number of projects that we financed in the state,” .
