In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2024, President Bola Tinubu has called for heightened collaboration from traditional rulers and international partners to support the government’s vision for women.
The President made this appeal at the official launch of the PBAT Cares for Women program, held at the State House in Abuja on Thursday, March 7. The event was attended by royal fathers, members of the diplomatic community, and women development partners.
Represented by the Secretary-General of the Federation, George Akume, President Tinubu emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that programs designed for Nigerian women are impactful and accessible.

He stressed the need for synergy among stakeholders to implement programs that would provide tangible benefits to women across the country.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, explained that the PBAT Cares for Women program aims to empower women who have already undergone training in all states of the country.
The program is part of the government’s efforts to enhance the welfare and economic empowerment of women in Nigeria.

The Minister further highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment.
