In an effort to foster data gathering surveys on the nation’s transport and logistics industry The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA)have revealed plans to collaborate with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Acting Managing Director Dr. Ini Usoro made this announcement.When the JICA team headed by Mr. Yasuhiro Yamauchi visited the agency’s Abuja headquarters, She expressed gratitude for the interest displayed in Nigerian space exploration as well as other fields.
According to Usoro, they are eager to cooperate with the team from data collection to translation of obtained data into useable information for decision making in the nation’s road transport, land and logistics sectors.
Yamauchi has previously stated that the goal of the JICA survey study is to gather data and offer suggestions for enhancing regulations, port and water transportation operators’ service standards, and transportation infrastructure advancement.
As a significant player in the road transport industry, he said that the agency will supply information on key transport concerns, a road network map, a road length summary table, and maps illustrating road conditions and their corresponding summary tables to assist their study.
