Ethio telecom has taken steps to strengthen its international presence through strategic engagement with Somcable, a leading telecommunications provider.
CEO Frehiwot Tamru hosted a high-level meeting with Somcable’s Chairman, Mohamed Said Guedi, and CEO, Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed, to explore partnership opportunities in digital and telecom services, with a particular focus on cross-border collaboration.

They discussed expansion into overseas markets by leveraging advanced digital and communication solutions in line with Ethio telecom’s strategic vision. During the meeting, CEO Tamru highlighted the company’s transformation journey, past achievements, and future strategic priorities, showcasing Ethio telecom’s extensive infrastructure and institutional capabilities.
As part of Ethio telecom’s ‘Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028’ strategy, Tamru emphasized:
