They discussed expansion into overseas markets by leveraging advanced digital and communication solutions in line with Ethio telecom’s strategic vision. During the meeting, CEO Tamru highlighted the company’s transformation journey, past achievements, and future strategic priorities, showcasing Ethio telecom’s extensive infrastructure and institutional capabilities.

As part of Ethio telecom’s ‘Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028’ strategy, Tamru emphasized:

Collaboration is instrumental to unlocking growth. This partnership enables us to share our experience and infrastructure to create shared value and advance digital empowerment across Africa.

The Somcable delegation expressed strong support for the partnership. Chairman Mohamed Said Guedi highlighted the company’s shared vision for Africa’s digital future, while CEO Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed noted:

This is more than a partnership between two companies; it is a collaborative commitment to harnessing technology to unlock human potential across Ethiopia and contribute to a more connected and prosperous Africa.

Both companies agreed to expand their existing business relationship, including enhancing the current international internet capacity lease agreement and exploring additional areas for strategic collaboration. The partnership reflects Ethio telecom’s ongoing efforts to leverage its infrastructure and technical expertise to drive innovation and position itself as a leader in regional and global digital markets.
