Equity Group and WQU Partner to Advance Education
Equity Group Foundation (EGF) and WorldQuant University (WQU) have entered into a strategic partnership to expand access to education and strengthen quantitative learning in East and Central Africa.
The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding on September 25, 2025.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration that includes technical information exchange, regular progress reviews, and joint development of action plans.
Empowering Africa’s Next Generation
EGF has long worked to improve access to education for talented but financially disadvantaged youth. Meanwhile, the U.S.-based WorldQuant University provides free, advanced education to learners worldwide.
Additionally, their partnership brings together shared goals, empowering students, supporting innovation, and building leadership capacity.
“Through this partnership, we are uniting our strengths to empower African youth with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy,” said EGF Executive Chairman Dr. James Mwangi.
“By combining EGF’s transformative education programs with WQU’s innovative approach to quantitative learning, we are creating pathways for young leaders to drive meaningful change in their communities.”

Building Real-World Skills Through Collaboration
Africa is already WorldQuant University’s largest market, accounting for 48 percent of global enrollment. The university currently has over 10,200 learners across 51 African countries.
Nearly 2,000 of them serve in senior positions within finance, education, banking, and technology sectors.
“This partnership represents a bold step toward making advanced education accessible to talented learners who might otherwise face barriers,” said WQU CEO John Endrud.
“Together with EGF, we are nurturing a generation of leaders equipped with practical quantitative skills to solve global challenges.”

The memorandum builds on WQU’s growing partnerships in Africa and highlights its commitment to connect academic learning with real-world application.
