Elon Musk Says X Will Get Rid of Blocking Feature

The past few months have been immensely interesting for one of the world’s richest individuals. As he has teased a sanctioned fight against fellow tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, he has also enacted a transitional overhaul of the social media platform he owns. Now, he is assuring that one long-held feature will soon be gone from the application.

Specifically, Elon Musk has stated that X, formerly Twitter, will remove the ability for users to block accounts. The Tesla CEO responded to a post inquiring when blocking or muting another account is ever necessary. Thereafter, Musk assured that the feature would soon be removed.

“Block is going to be deleted as a feature, except for DMs,” Musk stated. Subsequently, he noted that the feature “makes no sense” in an additional reply. Alternatively, the ability to block accounts has long been a staple of the platform. Yet, it appears as though its absence is set to be another indicative factor of the company’s continued overhaul.
