Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization Partners with China’s ELINC to Manufacture Advanced Defense Systems

The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) has announced the signing of a contract with China’s ELINC to manufacture advanced defense systems. This agreement was formalized between the Arab British Dynamics Industries Company (ABD), a subsidiary of AOI, and ELINC during the Egypt International Aviation and Space Exhibition 2024.

The contract was signed by Major General Engineer Yasser Attia, Chairman of ABD, and Yang, Chairman of ELINC, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing Egypt’s defense industry. The signing ceremony took place on the first day of AOI’s successful participation in the exhibition, highlighting the organization’s commitment to advancing its technological capabilities.

ELINC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation (CEC), was established in 1989 in Beijing. The company specializes in defense electronics, industry solutions, and cybersecurity, offering state-of-the-art products and systems along with comprehensive life cycle support.

ELINC’s portfolio includes command and control systems, early warning and detection systems, integrated electronic warfare and communication systems, anti-UAV technologies, remote sensing, and optoelectronic equipment.

Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of AOI, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with ELINC, emphasizing the importance of leveraging ABD’s advanced manufacturing capabilities. He noted that this partnership would not only meet local defense needs but also serve the requirements of sister Arab countries. Yang, Chairman of ELINC, echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in the cooperation with AOI and highlighting the potential for further collaboration in various advanced defense sectors.

This agreement underscores AOI’s strategic role in localizing cutting-edge technologies within the defense industry, positioning Egypt as a hub for defense manufacturing and expertise exchange in the region. The partnership with ELINC is expected to significantly enhance Egypt’s defense infrastructure, contributing to regional stability and security.

Likewise, at the Egypt International Airshow, Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) announced that it has received a supplier certificate from French world leading aircraft  engine manufacturer Safran Aircraft  Engines.

This certification follows the signing of a cooperation agreement in December 2023 for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the Larzac engine. With this certification, AOI becomes a globally authorized and licensed company to support the engines of the Alpha Jet training and light attack aircraft. This activity will be carried out in a brand new engine shop located in Helwan (Egypt) employing 30 skilled workers.
