The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received an intellectual property certificate for its first industrial design: the solar-powered electric abra.
The Ministry of Economy, the UAE’s official authority for issuing intellectual property certificates, granted the certification to RTA’s Marine Transport Department at the Public Transport Agency.
According to RTA officials, the certificate serves multiple strategic objectives, including protecting the authority’s exclusive rights, reinforcing its pioneering status, enabling licensing and franchising opportunities, and safeguarding valuable assets.
