Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called on property owners in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area to desist from increasing house and shop rents.
Sanwo-Olu made the call during the inauguration of the Abiola/Ajayi/Ogba and Obawole/Iju-Ishaga roads on Monday.
The construction of the 643-metre road, which includes a bridge with access ramps, began on October 24, 2022. The infrastructure will provide a crucial link, replacing a swampy area where a wooden bridge was previously used for toll collection.
The governor emphasized that the goal of the new infrastructure is to improve the quality of life of residents and not to increase their financial burden. “I want to appeal to the owners and owners: do not grow your rents or land prices. The point of this infrastructure is to bring relief to people, not to create new difficulties.
