Over the last several years, the prominence and usage of money orders have been on a stark decline. However, they still stand out as a prominent payment method for people who are seeking more specificity than cash provides, with greater security than traditional checks. So, let’s delve into the payment method, and more specifically, answer if a popular retail store, Target does money orders.

Money orders are certificates that are pre-paid with the intended amount. Therefore, these payment options are a lot like checks, except the amount specified has already been paid. This means that money orders, unlike checks are not prone to bouncing. However, it also allows an amount to be granted to one specific person, which is more specific than just using cash.

Target is one of the most common and well-known retail companies in the US. It offers plenty of services and goods, from pharmaceuticals to food and electronics. Here’s what you need to know about using money orders at Target.

Unfortunately, Target does not offer money order service to customers. They don’t cash them or sell them at any of their locations. The retail chain does not offer in-store financial services. The only financial service Target offers is its own credit and debit cards.

If you require a money order, you will have to visit another store, such as Western Union, to purchase one. Some convenience stores do accept money orders, such as 7/11.
