Diehl Defence and Elbit Systems Land have teamed up to deliver ammunition for the PULS and EuroPULS rocket artillery systems.
The cooperation aims to address the increased interest in rocket artillery and deep strike capabilities in Europe amid the Ukraine war.
Under the agreement, rockets and advanced training rockets will be delivered to fulfill the requirements of European militaries, particularly the German Armed Forces.
“This agreement paves the way for Diehl Defence and Elbit to bring their technological expertise along with their vast rocket artillery experience to Germany and other European countries and enable them to meet the ever-growing challenges of modern fire support,” Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch stated.
Rocket Artilleries
The PULS, or Precise and Universal Launching System, is a truck-mounted multiple rocket launcher developed and produced by Elbit.
It features a pair of pods that can accommodate a varied range of munitions such as 32 122mm Grad rockets, or 26 160mm LAR-160 rockets, or two 330mm Delilah missiles, or four 370mm Predator Hawk tactical ballistic missiles.
The EuroPULS is PULS’ Europeanized version developed by Elbit and KNDS.
In addition to a launcher derived from the PULS, it features mechanical interfaces by KNDS and a fire control system derived from the RCH155 wheeled self-propelled howitzer, enabling the integration of a greater variety of munitions.
“This Teaming Agreement between Elbit and Diehl Defence complements this initiative and will enable to develop and produce rocket-munitions for the PULS and EuroPULS launchers in Europe, providing further local capability, support and sustainment to all the European PULS/EuroPULS members,” General Manager of Elbit Systems Land Yehuda Vered said.
