In his latest set of statements, Trump has issued a strict warning against the BRICS nations. Trump reiterated his earlier stance with a more fierce outlook, claiming that the bloc’s intent to uproot the US dollar will never materialize.
“The idea that the BRICS countries are trying to move away from the dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER. We are going to require a commitment from these seemingly hostile countries that they will neither create a new BRICS currency nor back any other currency to replace the mighty U.S. dollar, or they will face 100% tariffs and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. economy.”

While Trump touts his tariff policy as something that could hugely benefit America and its citizens, his fierce trade stance may become detrimental to the US dollar’s health as per experts.
“Economic fashions are contagious. It is only a matter of time before someone follows Trump’s own logic and offers a plan to “Make Europe Great Again.” A US debt crisis could be the perverse result of his administration’s campaign against globalism.”
Trump and the Death of USD?
If Trump continues to wage war against nations in the guise of aggressive tariff policies, the phenomenon may ultimately spearhead de-dollarization rather than end it. For instance, the aggressive tariff policies could compel nations to look for alternatives, which may end up alienating the US dollar.
