Dangote refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N899.50 per litre.
In a statement, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer for Dangote Group emphasized that the price reduction offers relief to Nigerians during the festive season.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” said Chiejina.
Alongside the price reduction, consumers can now purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought with cash, providing extra value to customers during this period.
The Dangote Refinery, with a daily capacity of 650,000 barrels, stands as the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is fully equipped to meet 100% of Nigeria’s refined petroleum product needs, with additional export capacity.
The refinery had previously adjusted the price to N970 per litre on November 24. In a further reduction aimed at easing transport costs during the festive period, the new price has been set at N899.50 per litre.
Chiejina further emphasized the refinery’s dedication to providing Nigerians with access to premium quality, competitively priced petroleum products that are both environmentally and engine-friendly.
He noted that the refinery’s operations mark the end of Nigeria being a dumping ground for substandard and ‘blended’ imported products, which have posed significant risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
