Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in petrol prices, alongside the rollout of direct fuel distribution to 11 states, effective Monday, September 15, 2025.
The development was disclosed in a statement released on Thursday via the Group’s official X account.
According to the refinery, pump prices have been reduced to ₦841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, and ₦851 per litre in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta States. The gantry price has been set at ₦820 per litre.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery begins direct supply of PMS with free delivery effective Monday, September 15, 2025. New Gantry Price is set at N820,” the statement read.
The free distribution scheme, initially scheduled for August, was delayed due to logistics bottlenecks in China.
As part of the new rollout, registered fuel stations across 12 states will benefit from free delivery of PMS, with plans to gradually expand the service nationwide.
Station operators are being urged to register to access the scheme, which is expected to streamline fuel supply and strengthen distribution networks in participating states.
Refinery scales up
Since its commissioning, the Dangote Refinery has played a key role in reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported petroleum products.
In July 2025, it received 4,000 CNG-powered trucks under a ₦720 billion investment programme aimed at distributing 65 million litres of refined fuel daily.
The initiative is projected to save Nigeria approximately ₦1.7 trillion annually in gasoline distribution costs, while also enhancing downstream efficiency and revitalising dormant petrol stations across the country.
